"Scarface" Platinum Edition (1983) Releases
03 Oct 2006
Posted by : Webmaster
Brian De Palma reimagined Howard Hawks' 1932 classic gangster film "Scarface" more than 50 years later in 1983, transforming Chicago's gun-running, sister-loving Tony Camonte into Miami's drug-smuggling, sister-loving Tony Montana. With a script by Oliver Stone and starring Al Pacino in a fearless, over-the-top performance, "Scarface" revels in the excesses of the '80s and went on to become a movie idolized by rappers. It's only fitting the Platinum Edition would take a few cues from the upcoming "Scarface: The World Is Yours" video game, including such features as a souped-up soundtrack and a counter for the number of bullets fired and f-bombs dropped... Ocean's 13: The Grande Finale
18 Sep 2006
Posted by : Webmaster
Producer Jerry Weintraub may already be dreaming of an Ocean's Fourteen with Thirteen in the middle of production, but it's probably not in the cards.

"I want them all back for 'Ocean's 14," Weintraub said to Variety's Army Archerd during a set visit, referring to George Clooney and the rest of the principle cast. Weintraub was probably joking, however; at the recent Edinburgh Film Festival, director Steven Soderbergh denied any plans for a fourteenth, saying that 13 is slated to be the last one, and that Clooney wants the series to end on.. "Scarface" Writer Wary of Video Game Adaptations
14 Sep 2006
Posted by : Webmaster
Here's what I've found after many days break. Many pros and cons we've seen so far when it comes to making a video game from a movie and here, let's check out what the Scarface writer has to say on the game.

After a full year of delay, Vivendi Games finally will ship "Scarface: The World Is Yours" on October 3.

Hollywood scribe David McKenna ("Blow," "American History X") wrote the script for this new interactive experience, but has mixed feelings about Hollywood's dipping into the archives for games. [ Full Story ]

Pacino's Problem With Kids
14 Aug 2006
Posted by : Webmaster
The New York Daily News, has exposed a bit of a nasty tug of war in the media between ex lovers, Al Pacino and actress Beverly D’Angelo, and the fight over their two children.

An existing court order had been in place preventing Al Pacino from talking about his two children with ex partner Beverly D'Angelo, an she now claims it has been breached.

Al Pacino: In Conversation With Lawrence Grobel, a collection of articles on the actor, has Grobel writing, "His four-year-old daughter had seen a bee on the grass, hurt and perhaps dying. She pointed it out to her daddy, who said, 'The bee is not well. Why don't we put it in a better place?' So he lifted it onto a piece of paper, and they placed it on a flower bed. Later, when he was dropping (the twins) off, he said to his daughter, 'Why don't you tell Mommy about the bee?' and Mommy said, 'She was once stung by a bee. You shouldn't let her near one.'

"Al wanted to explain that the bee was not a danger. But their mother was coming from another place: Bees can sting."

None of this is amusing D'Angelo who fought and won a bitter court battle since her split from Pacino in 2002.

An unnamed source tells the New York Daily News, "Beverly does not remember this ever happening. Al is notorious for taking dramatic license. And he's not supposed to be talking about the kids anyway."

D'Angelo tells the Daily News, "Since 2003, there has been a court order covering this kind of thing."
